Rewilding Ireland: Your Trees at Work

This page lets you follow the growth and impact of the trees planted. See photos, updates, and learn how your forest helps restore Ireland’s natural landscape.

Why We Do What We Do

At Cloudforests, our mission is to reforest Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way with native and mixed‑species woodlands, creating vibrant habitats that help heal the land, support wildlife, and combat climate change

Impact on Irish Wildlife & Biodiversity

  • Native Woodlands, Thriving Ecosystems
By planting species like oak, alder, willow, rowan, and hazel, we recreate the complex forest structures that sustain insects, fungi, birds, bats, butterflies, and small mammals—much like a single oak might support 10,000+ insect species.

  • Pollinator & Habitat Support
Our forests include wildflower meadows and orchards, creating food-rich environments for bees, butterflies, and birds, while also offering nesting shelter

  • Restoring Ecological Balance
We replace low-biodiversity conifer plantations (effectively wildlife deserts in Ireland) with diverse, native forests, reversing habitat loss and soil acidification

  • Creating Wildlife Corridors
Strategic planting connects fragmented habitats—hedgerows, riverbanks, and small woodlands—allowing wildlife to move freely and promoting healthier ecosystems
