It’s been just over a month since our beautiful Native Irish Honey Bees (apis mellifera mellifera) first arrived at our new Voluntary Conservation Area at our Cloudforest One site in Lahinch, Co. Clare. We are the first private enterprise to undertake the role of a Voluntary Conservation Area & we are very excited to go down to visit them next week and see how they are developing. 

However, the past month has not only been a big month in our Native Honey Bee conservation efforts. It’s been a big month for all of us concerned with the apis mellifera mellifera & its future.

We are delighted to announce that the Red Wood, created by Shelbourne FC, will be located in Carrigaholt, County Clare. This Forest is a new chapter in the illustrious history of Shelbourne.

The Red Wood has been growing digitally since the beginning of the 2022 season, but we are now delighted to finally release the real-world site of the Forest on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Protection of the Native Irish Honey Bee Bill 2021 (Protection Bill) will go through its 2nd stage in the Seanad this Thursday. 

This bill would put a ban on imports of non-native bees, and is scheduled for debate in the Seanad on Thursday with support from all parties.

Exciting news came from Tolka Park earlier this month, as Shelbourne FC (CoolPartner 020) announced the launch of the Shelbourne FC weekly in partnership with Clubforce.

WE ARE 039...Yesterday another great business Midsummer Ireland joined our powerful CoolPartner community as CoolPartner 039.

We had another incredibly successful month with all of our Cloudforest teams, with wins all around, plenty of goals being scored, trees being planted & even trophies being won!

Although it is well known in Ireland & has been widely planted in parks & garden across Ireland, the Horse Chestnut Tree (Aesculus hippocastanum) is not a native Irish Tree. In saying that, one could argue that after over 200 years of being found in Ireland, the Horse Chestnut Tree has long been naturalised to the Emerald Isle.

The Red Wood - a partnership Cloudforest with CoolPartner 020 Shelbourne Football Club is digitally growing online. On The 6th of June we will reveal the real-world location for the RedWood.

It was a busy weekend for all our community teams at Cloudforests. We had plenty of goals, a few winning teams & we even had one of our community teams win their league title on Sunday Morning.

Phantom forests are forests which have either failed to come to fruition either because they have died or they have been lost through deforestation. The Philippine's National Greening Programme, which we spoke about earlier, is a prime example of a phantom forest, which was doomed to fail from the beginning. 

Last weekend was an unbelievable one for Shelbourne, Cloudforests, The Red Wood & The Academy! Both senior teams had huge wins, at home & away. Meanwhile, all of the Cloudforests sponsored teams, had resounding wins over their oppositions, while representing the Cloudforest brand impeccably, as always.
